its been a good weekend . . .

. . . we had a couple of walks today, chased some rabbits, played dodge and tackle. uncle leo got his stitches out so he doesn't look like frankenstein anymore. i met another golden retriever yesterday named 'piper'; she was kind of a princess though -- her hair was all smooth and not covered in dog spit. but she was like a linebacker or something. she kept putting her paw on my head and trying to take me down. i may be old, but i'm still pretty wiley; i can outrun lindy if i really want to (not that i really have any reason to).

something daddy has been feeding me gives me the toots and momma and daddy think it is soooooo funny. sometimes you just have to let it out, right daddy? its not like you've never had this problem.

i smell the grill; i think daddy is making us hamburgers for dinner; i hope they don't have those little, green, hot pieces in them - japanenoes or something. those things really give me the toots. i prefer a double-bacon, triple cheeseburger. i've exercised a lot this weekend and need to be rewarded for my hard work.

newman brought a live mouse in the house the other night. his name is dave and he's the cousin of pete (who was murdered in this neighborhood a few weeks ago). momma and daddy didn't notice him at first until he started to squeak like mad. newman and uncle leo were playing badminton with him and he didn't like it too much. it was pretty exciting though. lindy and i chased him around the house for a few minutes until daddy caught him and threw him over the fence. i'm not sure why daddy throws them out - newman or leo will just go find them again and the torture will be worse.

burgers are ready; i have to run.

love, cheese and happiness,
