i love smiling; smiling is my favorite

today we went to the north pole and saw SANTA!!! it must be almost Christmas! it was the real santa too; i just know it. he smelled like beef and cheese - the way santa should smell. i sniffed him up and down, front and rear to see where he was hiding the cheese, but i couldn't find it. lindy sniffed his butt real good too (i think she thought he was hiding the cheeseburgers in there), but we never found the source of the beef smell.

i LOVE santa. every year he brings us big socks full of jumbones, and crunchy bones and milk bones and peanut butter bones and pigs ears and other yummy stuff. i wish every day were Christmas. this year, i asked santa for a "bath-free forever", a truckload full of oreos, a membership to the "jumbone-a-day club", a membership to the "cheeseburger-a-day club", 472,561 hersey kisses, a 22-hour-a-day dog-sitter that will brush me on command, 52 bushels of chicken nuggets and a new bed. he promised he'd make all my Christmas wishes come true and have a stern talking-to with momma about the unwanted baths.

we met some other dogs at the north pole too; a first cousin named Harley and a fourth cousin once-removed from my dad's side named Bailee. we also met a little mexican chihuahuahuahua (che-wa-wa-wa-wa) dog named Mouse who was really cold and shivered uncontrollably the whole time (i think she should ask santa for a sweater). momma bought us new Christmas collars from the north pole pet smart; lindy and i will be modeling them soon. momma says she'll let us wear them after we're cleeeen (i'm not sure what cleeeen means, but if it has anything to do with a bath, i'm running away to the north pole where baths have been outlawed - santa said, so it must be true).

ok; its time for me to go. momma is making cookies. if i give her the stink-eye, she might give me one. or maybe she's in the spirit of christmas giving and i won't have to do a thing to get a cookie except smile sweetly and give her a snuggle.

love and sugar cookies,

daisy 'the christmas elf' daffodil broyles
